Extremely frustrated with my Lee Auto Disk Loader

Not sure what press you are using, I have an LNL-AP and I have 3 pro auto disks pre-set for .357, .44, .500sw (double disk kit), they are quite good. Is the case fully actuating the measure? Is the hopper turned so it's fully ON and not partly OFF? Is it shifting partly OFF during use? Do you settle the powder in the hopper before loading? Is it an infinitely adjustable bar? (I hate those things for the reason you mention)

I found that putting the powder baffle from my RCBS Uniflow into my Pro Auto Disk helps to keep the powder charges consistent. I use the double disk for Varget in 223 and the charges rarely vary more than .1 grain. Flake powders like Unique also measure much better with the baffle in place.

Well I do have some good news... I just got back from my garage, with some more testing. I was able to pretty consistently measure 4.9 gr of universal with my disk dispenser.. I think the problem was my scale. I was reading .2 gr off one of the times I made my 15 measurements just now, so I recalibrated it, and it was back to 4.9. Looks like I'll be able to sleep tonight after all...

My Lyman 1500 requires occasional recalibration. Temperature changes can cause any digital scale to drift, as can proximity to flouro lighting. I just leave mine plugged in all the time.

I've been meaning to get some check weights but after cal it always comes back to where my notes say a given powder/cavity combo is supposed to be.

I have the Auto Disc Pro and the only problem I've had was when I let some oil get into the powder path. Don't do that.:banghead:
