Walt, check out how many small arms FN provides the US military.....more than any other manufacturer.

How do you check that? I don't have a clue as to how to find THAT info.

If it's true, I'm impressed, since the U.S. government has purchased hundreds of thousands Beretta M9s, first with their initial orders post-Vietnam (of about 1/2 million guns), and with a subsequent large order more recently. (I would think the number exceeds a million Berettas, or close to it.)

On older Hi-Powers the slide stop is a little bit different - it's thinner, forged instead of cast and blued instead of parkerized. Both will work, but the new slide stop will look out of place on this pistol. I second the advice for contacting a dealer in South Africa. You can try a search thru the numerous German sites offering deactivated WWII weapons and militaria -

As for the Haemmerli 215 extractor - I might be able to find you one, but I have to check first.

Best,

Mizar.
Thank you.

I followed the advice and started sending email to many gunsmiths in South Africa and received confirmation from Andy Fuller,a well known gunsmith located in Knysna, South Africa, that he might have a slide stop pin for the Browning High Power in stock. Very happy and waiting anxiously.

But the old style extractor, spring and pin for the Haemmerli 215 is still a major problem.

Personally I hate it if one of my firearms is incomplete or U/S for a fixable reason.

Thank you for your assistance.

I guess if worst comes to worst, you can pay someone with said items to have them blueprinted and machined. That may be quite costly.

Boris.
My information is that there is a "old Style extractor" which are about 6mm long and a newer style which is different.

Larrys Guns emailed me to confirm that they do not have the "old Style" in stock.

Buggered by the finger of.........
Thank you

Just FWIW, you don't need the slide stop to fire the gun, you only need a steel pin of the proper size and a file cut to keep it in place. The slide will not lock back on an empty magazine, but that is a minor point if you can keep the gun shooting.
