Fairbanks Gun Show!

I just found out! I'm so happy I found out today, surprising! Anyone here going to it? I have not been to one yet..

Questions..

What should I look for? I wouldn't wana spend more than like 400 bucks and I am only 20, so what could I come away with? Are handguns all off the market for me? What kind of decent rifles then? Thanks

Too Far West and North for me!

Wish I could attend EVERY gun show, but unless it was within a hundred miles of Southwestern Michigan, that show was not intended for me to attend. I can attend Chicago through Grand Rapids shows with fervor. I live in the frozen armpit of Michigan. Gasoline and Time do not grow on trees, such as apples do in Michigan. cliffy

Well, I always just thought they had good deals..I am familiar with the gun market somewhat, and wouldn't buy anything I am not familiar with but was just wandering.. There are gun dealers around here but I am 20 and can not buy handguns from a licensed dealer yet, and dealers are pricy too

How is Mount Redoubt doing up there? Any ash fall?

I haven't been in Fairbanks since 2003. Kinda miss it, would go to this show if I were there.

Anyhow, it's also a hoot to see the gun show is being held at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.

I live in Fairbanks, I am not too sure how Mt Redoubt is doing..few weeks ago it was cancelling every flight, but I think its okay now..

Yeah I am excited for the show, hopefully I can come away with some goodies, would it be best to show up at 10 am? Or a little later? I would think early so its not as packed and the good stuff is all there still..

I'll be going. If you are wanting something that might be in high demand, go early. Since the show isn't that big, good stuff can go quick. The best wheelin and dealin is usually done on Sunday. Don't know if you can do handguns at your age, but the rest should be available to you. Dealers and non-dealers will be there with at least two guys selling only ammo. The university rifle team might be there selling shirts and there is usually a high school rifle team there fundraising. Good luck !

I say go to both. Early Sat to get the deals, later Sun to find the I realy need to sell this and the show is almost over sellers.

I got a sprinkling of ash 2 weeks ago,nothing since. Its to cold for volcano's in Fairbanks. The lava freezes is soon as it hits the air.

How was the show?? I had other engagements here at Greely... I thought about driving up Sunday but the cookout lasted too late into the night! Loving these long days again!
