FAL full stock to Para

If I was going to turn my full size FAL into a Para, what all would I need to buy? I know I would need a new dust cover and bolt carrier, but what else? How much of the old lower could I put into a stripped Para lower?

I've been wondering the same thing...

Since my DS Arms Predator has arrived. The conversion doesn't seem to be that hard, but the cost of the parts is obscenely prohibitive for me at the moment, especially since I would have to purchase a new para scope mount also..

You need:

Para bolt carrier
Para dust cover
Para bolt carrier return springs
Para lower
Para folding stock
Para rear sight

All the rest of the parts come from your old lower.

You may or may not need your upper worked on to take the nose of the dust cover, many people grind it off or buy a noseless para kit.

A dumb question:
Is this a para lower? I see no reference to it being able to take a hinged stock.

Also, does DS arms not make a stainless steel barrel or am I just not finding them?

I'm new to FALs. Whats the difference? I thought it was just the stock but appearantly i was way off. Anyone got pics showing the contrasting two?

The Paras don't use the whole rattail deal, the return spring is in the reciever itself, not the buttstock
