Familial Bad Luck With Ruger Revolvers

My son was telling me - when he first showed these pictures to a fellow "gun guy," that person said "he'll ask his buddy from Texas for an opinion."

"Gun guy."

"Texas."

this threaded is strange… I think your gun is broken, call Ruger and tell them about you issue with photos

Like I said…

Not mine, belongs to one of my son’s range buddies or whatever they’re called nowadays

Think he sent it back last year.

Sooo…

How on earth did this revolver even leave the stable?

I mean, this gun presumably lends to old - school methods with manual fitting…

It’s not like this gun is Glockproduced and Glocksold in Glockmassive Glockquantities…

And hearing of Glocks with similar issues leaving the factory are almost unheard of…

Know what, scratch that - Glocks are always thought to have no rifling…

I'm not completely up to speed on NFA stuff, but doesn't the smooth bore make the thing a felony?

Interesting point…

Looking it up, perhaps an AOW!

Who committed the great NFA sin?

The owner who purchased it legally?

The FFL who let go of it as a rifled firearm?

Or Ruger?

Interesting, interesting.

Know what, it has polygonal rifling!

Only that the designers allowed the number of equal sides to get finer and finer, reaching infinity!

Triangle... Square... Pentagon... Hexagon... Septagon... Octagon... Nonagon... Decagon...

...polygonal rifling!

Chevy People: POUNCE!!!
Ford People: Crickets…

My memories of the Raptor date back to the “white trucks can’t jump, bent frame” era!
Ya know Chevy didn’t go to SEMA this year. They couldn’t keep the onboard electronics working long enough to get there.

And I can say that with a little bit of authority, I deliver parts for a GM dealer and the electronics are still trash which is why I moved away from the bowtie in 2016 and have never looked back. I should have taken the dive earlier.

I can just see the ad copy:

Ultra mini-micro groove rifling.

“Designed to prevent the scourge of copper fouling, by eliminating all the friction caused by lands and grooves imparting rotation to a bullet as it moves down the bore.”

Again, wow. 🫣

Stay safe..
