I have an uncle currently in the ICU here in Salem. He and I were not close over the last few years. I appeared on the scene to assist and provide support to my Grandfather and my cousin. My uncle was a raging alcoholic for 40 years. This latest incident involved copius amounts of beer, tylenol and vicodin. My uncle will survive, we think, but he is now an invalid destined for a rest home. (moderators I am getting to the part about guns).
My cousin who has possesion of all my uncles guns is allowing me to borrow some of them for the purpose of research, cleaning and occasional shooting.
There is an M1 Garand in pristine shape, an M1 carbine that needs some work. An old Western Field 22 from my child hood. And last but not least an original M1897 Winchester pump 12ga. There are other guns I am not aware of. Guess I'll find out on Saturday. My uncle for all his vile alcoholic ways had very good taste in guns and equipment. My cousin fully intends to make as much use of these fine weapons as possible. My cousin and I will be trying to have some of the good times we missed while dodging my drunk uncle.

Stay Tuned The M1 Carbine and the M97 Winchester look mighty interesting
