interesting anecdote.
the first time i went to thunder ranch i inquired after Clint
just how i might get my wife to come down and take a class.
Clint replied, "You don't. She either wants to come on her own,
or she doesn't come down."
I encouraged my wife to shoot and hunt with me.
but she "wasn't sure about this gun thing."
Surprizingly, one day she TOLD ME she wanted to go to Thunder Ranch.
(in hindsight, that may have only been self preservation on her part)
She attended Ladies Defensive Handgun that first time,
where SHE was invited to go Bison hunting
and I was invited to be "photo boy."
Subsequent to LDG she has returned without me several times
to take other classes.
While at another class she noticed how intimidated the men are of
a woman who is competent with her pistol and her gear. (They don't
even seem to notice how she shoots!)
After the third day or so, the men actually start to talk to her.
One inquired how he could get his wife to come down to TR
and Wanda replied:
"You don't. She either wants to come on her own,
or she doesn't come down."
