Fantastic News! ( Tennessee CCW reciprocity )
Related to the thread below about Memphis:
The state of Tennessee has just passed a new gun law making it legal for anyone of another state with a CCW permit or license to carry their handgun in Tenn. Read about it on packing.org under the Alabama news (the Al attorney gen worked with them on this). Go to the Alabama attorney gen. spot and scroll down to Tenn then you can download the Tenn new law. It will be in .pdf form so need Acrobat to read it, but it's only 3 pages including the signature page.
What Tennessee has done is recognize the fact (like Alabama) that honest gun owners had to fill out the 'yellow form' to buy a gun in their state which is checked on the Federal computer. And if you pass the yellow form exam and have a CCW permit, then you should be authorized to carry anywhere in the USA. I think this is the first state to really uphold the 2d Ammendment rights of all of us. A real slap in the face for "anti-gun Gore" who is from Tenn.
This means when I visit the Smokies or Nashville, etc. I can now carry my handgun legally. It will be a big boost for tourist trade in Tennessee. (Of course, you can't carry in DollyWood.)
Now all we need is for Texas, Louisiana, etc. to follow suit. Those of you in Texas need to e-mail your state rep's and mention the Tenn. new law.
Glory Hallelujah!
