I have used Wilsons and Shooting Stars (McCormick). They have been extremely reliable, aside from the original mags that came with my Colts and Springfield Armory 1911s, compared to generics.

I voted McCormick because I have more of them (8) than any other, and none have ever given a problem.

Have sold the 1911s (still have some Chip mags, though) and sticking to .357 revolvers. Haven't regretted not having to pick up brass at all:):)

I've always been happy with Colt mags, though I do have some older Pachmayr mags that have always worked just fine.

There was an article in a magazine recently titled something like "It's the Magazine" and it was a test of 1911 magazines. They used all sorts of different magazines with different ammunition and different 1911 guns. The Tripp's came out #1, with 0 failures. The Wilson's were a close second with 1 failure (although they had about twice as many rounds of ammunition through it than the Tripp's). The rest didn't do so great and I believe the Colts and military magazines were last. The author said after the testing he sold all his other magazines and just uses Tripp Cobramags now.

All my 1911's are Colts and the Colt 7 rounders have never been a problem, but I have had several Colt 8 rounders that have been problematic until a gunsmith did his magic on them. I have to vote for Wilson though because the Wilson - Rodgers 7 & 8 rounders I have work in every 1911 I own. When it comes to my Colt Delta Elite the Colt 10mm mags I purchased directly from Colt with the Colt label, not the mags that came with the NIB pistol, have never failed.

i have a question, does wilson combat make 9mm mags?

what are the best 9mm mags for a fullsize 1911 by springfield?

I have about 50/50 CM and Wilson, the reason I voted for CM is that they work flawlessly in ALL my 1911's.

The Wilson will not lock back the slide on my TRP and I'll be damned if I can find the reason why. The follower just will not catch the slide stop! Both 1911's are set up almost identically.
