Well if things keep going the way they’re going I might have the freedom to move out of state. Maine looks nice, tons of unincorporated land too.
That said. I’m headed to the shop tomorrow to see if they still have it.
Guess I know what I’m doing today.
As of yesterday they still had them. If they are still there I would buy one. If they are still there Monday I am buying both spending pics. Which for some reason they could not send me until Monday.
I had a Charles Daly High Power many years ago, shoot well but hard to get used to the v shape XS quick aim rear sight and there is no way to replace the rear sight because of the unique dovetail cut. I sold it. The huge Charles Daly roll mark on the slide was an eye sore I can ignore but hard to get use to the sight picture of the quick aim sight. I like standard square slot sight much better.
So I was looking at that no bite hammer and it got me wondering the people hold pistol differently back in the day so that hammer bike wasn’t a thing?
Their main priority is the range. That’s where most of their attention and money goes. They do enough business with the range that they don’t really need to care all that much. I really can’t say much more as I’m about to take a job at that place and I don’t wanna put anything permanent out there. Those guys at the shop are piss poor at selling guns. They can't even return a phone call. Only one of them can handle a transaction leaving their shop. If they can't get back to me today I am going to pass.
What coating is that? I like.deleted - didn't read the OP before writing

Love the parkerized look! That's parkerizing, very ordinary parkerizing, not was well done as you see on US WWII weapons. The gun is a clone of the Canadian Inglis High Power made by Indian Ordnance Factory. I mention it often because I am very happy with it, but this thread is really about the Charles Daly High Powers. My IOF High Power is accurate, reliable, and has a good trigger despite still having the magazine safety installed. And I got it at a good price. Only a small batch (500, maybe) were ever exported to the US. The IOF has stopped making them, I believe.
PS - Post # 18 in this thread shows not everybody had a good opinion of these Indian High Powers: https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...y-fielded-military-rifle-in-the-world.165762/
I've had a number of the FEG "clones", but the best clone I've run across were the FM clones from Argentina.
I'd buy that in a heartbeat. I'd pay you to have them ship it to my ffl.The local range has a Charles Daily for $375. The bore looks good like it’s hardly been shot. The outside has decent wear.
Were Charles daily’s decent clones?

though I'll be honest, the reagent br9 in stainless has been calling my name too......
