I still haven’t had the time to try it but from what I’ve read in Handloader and various hunting articles, Accurate No.11FS is supposed to be WC297, the flash suppressed, more stable and better behaved W296. It’s the pistol magnum world’s Jekyll to 296’s Hyde.:cool:

They always seem to have a good bit of that 11FS at the store I always bought my powder from, I just may have to pick up a pound and see how it makes things tick....

I've used 2400, H110/W296, AA4100, etc., in revolver cartridges but found them difficult to manage as one has to load them near max. They do shine in carbine-length barrels, however. I loaded 10.0 grs. of Blue Dot with a 158 gr. bullet and got over 1300 fps out of a 4 3/4" barrel. that's about 50% less than the slower powders. This powder seems much easier to use. Heck, I recently even loaded some IMR-Target (Essentially a twin of Bullseye) with my 158 gr. cast SWC's, and 6.5 gr., about 1/2 gr. under max, yielded 1240 fps from the same 4 3/4" barrel. I'm finding less and less need for the really slow powders in revolvers.

I had a nice surprise with CFE-P.

After trying it in several calibers and not liking it I found it a winner (finally!) with 180-187 gr .357 magnum "reduced" loads from a 3" barrel. Low ES & SD and chronographed about 915 fps. It's not an intense load but very efficient.

I'm not at max with it, I don't think, but I'll bet if I loaded more into the case I'll just get more recoil & blast without much more velocity. That's been my experience with CFE-P in other cartridges and trying it out with 158 gr .357 mag loads.

I'm not quoting my charge because I don't have my books in front of me but I can look it up if someone wants it.

I have read that article. Pretty interesting.

I prefer 2400 for cast in pistol and rifle. And jacketed in rifle. In rifle, with jacketed, I have been using 300-MP. I haven't seen No. 11FS locally, and forgot to add to my last Powder Valley order. I would like to try it.

I use W296/H110 for cast and jacketed but if I can’t find it I use Blue Dot , 2400 or Enforcer which I am currently using.

I use IMR4227 in all my magnum loads, 327, 357, 41, 44, 45c, and one rifle load, 35Rem. It’s not the fastest in any of my loads but it’s the most accurate in all of them. I can get a higher fps with H110/296 by about 80 to 100, but I don’t shoot anything that needs the extra speed.

Like mentioned above, if you not using light boolits and use a heavy crimp, load it in the top of the spread and it’s as clean as any other powder I use.

I mainly use 110/296 or AA-9 for canister powders, but several years back I picked up some surplus Magnum Pistol powder from GI Brass or Pat's or both, that I have been working though.

I do use some 2400 but it is limited to only a couple of loads. I hunt with all of my handguns and find the fireball it delivers with some loads to be a bit more than i want. Granted the 110/296 loads can and do produce some as well but I have learned which are tolerable and which or not.

I used to use a lot of 2400 and very little H110. Nowadays I use a lot of H110 and almost no 2400. Have a feeling 300MP would be my favorite if there was more data available.

Hey peeps! I worked up a couple really great Loads with Ramshot Enforcer in 357 Magnum. With 140 grain XTP's in Starline cases and CCI 550 Magnum small pistol primers, I settled on 14.8 grains. With the 158 grain XTP's I ended up with 13.4 grains. Both shot pretty accurately in a Ruger GP-100 with 6" barrel. Primers were somewhat flattened but still had a radius on outer edges.

I got an average of 1327 fps with 125 gr XTP JHP from a 3" barrel using 18.0 gr of Enforcer.

Accuracy was okay. Plenty of undesirable flash & flash.

I used regular Federal primers. ES was 88 and SD about 27 fps. Not great.

Perhaps magnum primers would provide more consistency with Enforcer?

I only use Mag primers. Many folks don't, as its not an absolute necessity...unless you are loading down. I had some squib loads that could have catastrophic when I first started using Enforcer. Failure to ignite. Not cool.

Well if it can't hurt I do have them.
