How is that ruler to shoot? Looks like a beast!!
If by "that ruler" you're referring to my 44 Special Charter, let's just say that shooting factory level 44 Specials out of it gives me no motivation at all to try hotter loads. Recoil is already adequate.

That said, I just got some 200 grain wadcutters @950 fps from Buffalo Bore that I'm going to try.

In order, Colt 2 1/2 Diamondback, Smith 49, 3" SP101, Ruger 2 3/4 Security Six.

My all time favorite was a 3" Taurus 431 in 44 special. Still kick myself for selling it. Of the current crop its the SP101 DAO 357 with a Crimson Trace grip. Good with 357s but it really shines with 38 special +P ammo.

My 442, SP101, LCR357, and MDL.37 are my favorite carry and shooters. I carry Two of them every day. The 442 and LCR357 get carried and shot the most.

I will join the crowd with the 2-3/4" Security Sixes. Mine is the best shooting revolver I have.

Smith and Wesson Model 642 in .38+p for a quick trip into the city. Ruger SP101 3" in .357 for hiking and backpacking.

I have a Ruger Speed Six in .357 with a 2 3/4" barrel that I love. Its bigger and heavier than the SP101 and the SP101 only carries one less round so it doesn't see any holster time.

I would say one of my S&W J-frame snubbies...

So, I'll pick my model 640-1 Pro Series chambered in 38/357. It is snappy with 357s and happy with +P 38s.

All of 'em.

I dunno. I have a .44 with a 6" barrel and that's plenty for me. I'm not man enough for a .44 snub!

The pictures are beautiful!

I love revolvers, with any and every length of barrel. I think I have more 2'-3" than any other size.

If 3" counts, it has to be my Rossi 720. It is a SS 3" 44 special. It seems just a little small for a medium-sized frame, but is hefty for its size. The sights are good and the trigger is excellent. 44 special has surprisingly moderate recoil for a big bore round. It is noticeably thicker and heavier than a similar j-frame gun, so the recoil is no problem at all. Most people would probably find it is more comfortable to shoot than a lightweight 38 snub. It has been very accurate for me and my FiL (large hands) and my shooting buddy (small hands).

This one is definitely in the small category. It is nothing special, just an older Taurus 85 ultralight. I bought it new. The trigger was good brand-new and improved with use. It is the second Taurus 85 I've had that is unusually accurate for a 38 snub. They have both had good triggers. When I got my CCL I carefully bobbed the hammer spur (to make it snagproof). It is one of the two pieces I carry regularly.

Sorry for the photobombing - I love my snubs.

This is a fun and handy kit gun and/or plinker. 32 S&W longs have barely more recoil than 22's.This one happens to shoot 32acp reliably (some of my 32 revolvers do, and some don't). With 32 H&R magnums it could even be used for SD if necessary. The trigger and accuracy are better than you would expect for such an archaic-looking and inexpensive revolver. It is a fun old-timey walking around in the woods gun.

It is from the old H&R/NEF company. I remember seeing them on sale brand-new for $87 when I was a teenager.
