Taurus PT-145 Millenium Pro. As small as most snubbies, but 10+1 .45 ACP. Had a Millenium PT-140 before but didn't like it. Taurus seems to have solved the problems (I was always hitting the mag release button on recoil, so one round, then 'click') and the .45 doesn't have the punishing snap of a .40 in a light gun. I use it for a BUG on duty.
...When I got mine, I stopped by a buddy's house to show him, and he and another guy were shooting a rifle off the bench. He invited me to shoot , and so I took a rested shot at the target, which I thought was about 30-35 yards out. His friend took one shot, and he took one. When we walked out to the target, we were all within 6" of each other, and the group was centered on the bull! Imagine my suprise when he informed me the other day that that target wasn't 30, but 60 yards out!
+1 on the savage 99, pete f. the best lever action design ever built. i don't mind that they aren't as popular as they once were, it means i can buy them cheaper.
I like the charter arms bulldog .44 for carrying, I wanted to try a smith 396ti but I cant find one now, I like the .44 because it is ok for bear protection (I prefer a .44 mag but this is easier to pack)
