FBI Issue Weapon to New Agents?

The FBI, as others have mentioned, issues either the G22 or G23. There is a small list of personally owned weapons allowed, including the SIG P229, P228, and P226. I've heard from agents this list has 6 other weapons for a total of 9 but I do not know what the others are.

isp2605 put it in a nutshell in his last post in this thread. Countering fiction with fact, the following is based on a specific answer to a specific question I asked someone at noon-time today who REALLY knows!

According to my Bureau contact, the Glock G22 and G23 models are still the FBI issue primary handguns and it looks like it's going to be that way for the foreseeable future. The word has just gone out to those agents with Generation 1 or 2 framed Glocks that they're being replaced right away with new Generation 3 models. It appears that .40 caliber Glocks with light rails will soon be on duty with the EYE.
