I got some 230g FMJ ammo made by Federal. I opened the box and was surprised to find small pistol primers - I checked again to make sure it wasn't 45GAP, but it was 45 Auto.

Has anyone seen this?

Yep, it's come up here before. If you reload with a progressive press, keep the SP and LP brass separate. :)

Winchester White Box for Wal Mart had small primers several years ago. I assume they still do. It sure brought my reloading in a Dillon Square Deal B to halt when I got into that fired brass!

I just bought some WWB last week, it had large pistol primer.
Fiocchi is using SP primers also.

It is a pain in the $%^%% for reloading. On more than one occasion I've buggered a primer trying to get it into one of those small holes.

Also of note, S&B brass is notorious for having extremely tight primer pockets. They use large pistol, but it can be a real bear getting a new primer into a once fired casing.
