I've owned mine for about a month or two and I've put about 200 rounds through it. Shoots great and is breaking in nicely. Had a few extraction problems (as in one every few mags), but it is doing much better once I cleaned the filth out of it. The gun comes from AO on the gritty side and you will want to strip and clean all the nooks and crannies. I missed the extractor the first time around unfortunately. I haven't had a problem since I gave it a little extra attention. I've been shooting FMJ, so I don't know how well it will handle JHP or JSP, but my gun's feedramp is good and shiny so I don't think I'll have many problems.
Other than that, well the metal handguard looks like crap. I replaced mine with an Ultimak weaver rail from Fulton Armory. Much better although the aluminum Ultimak rail does get good and hot after a long string. The finish on the metal parts varies in shade. Some are light gray, others dark. I don't really mind this though, it just gives the gun character and my rail was going to be a different shade anyway.
The birch stock on the AO may be softer than GI walnut. I had to do a little sanding/cutting on it to get the rail on (which is normal BTW) and the dremel sander seemed to fly through it. I don't have a walnut stock to compare it with though. The birch stock is quite pretty though.
As for accuracy, it shoots better than I can. That isn't saying much though since my riflecraft is crap. The stock sights are great, but I put a LER pistol scope on the rail because I have horrible eyesight.
I know around here, you aren't going to get any carbine that still shoots for the same price. Anything close (within a $100-150) is usually shot to hell or a POS universal. I like the fact that it is a new gun as well. I don't feel like I am betraying a long line of GIs (or destroying collector value) by changing the gun's configuration around. This is my gun and I'll do as I please with it. I'd recommend it as long as you just want a shooter and not a historical piece.
