I'm thinking about purchasing a set from CZ for my 75B - as no one else seems to offer them. Are they decent sights...i.e. comparable to Trijicon or Meprolight?

I just got these .CZ Site Opts on my CZ-75B SA. I really like them. They fit the CZ perfectly.

I picked these...
Item Number : CZ-0002S-6

Nice...might have to pick up a set, however, I'm still curious about the $77 sights from CZ.

My 75B doesn't have a dovetail cut...and I don't want to get into even more money.

From what I hear, depending on what they have at the time, CZ installs either Meprolights which get pretty good reviews or PT nightsights which get not so good reviews.

FWIW: When I was looking for my night sights, I wrote inquiring about PT NightSights for the CZ. J. Ling, IWI/MMC's Customer Service manager replied: "We do not make PT Night sights for the CZ". I do hear thay made some in the past, but that's what I heard when I went direct to IWI/MMC. I had contacted CZ, and they were out of the night sights (and had only offered 3-dots).

CZ's have a different, unique, front dovetail, which is parallel to the bore, and pinned by a 1/16th-ish pin.

Meprolights are good too. Kimber uses them on factory models (Millets too). Both Meprolights and XS 24/7's cost a bit more. I chose XS 24/7, since I wanted a smaller/finer front sight (The tritium tubes are the same size). Aim small, miss small!

I like the "i" sight picture very much.

*nod* I used the plastic drift that came with the XS sights. I had the slide in a vise between two soft pine boards. It was easier than I figured. Get a 1/16th inch punch (Stanley $2) for the front sight pin. The XS sights come with a small tube of 'loc-tite-like-stuff' for the front sight, and have TWO lock down allen screws (and wrench) for the rear.

Forgot to mention...there was some minor filing required. I did file just a bit off of the bottom of the rear sight (just rub across a file). The rear base looked designed a 'little thick' in case of a loose dovetail. Mine were tight. I filed the bottom until it was nearly sharp. (This will make sense when you see the sight from the factory).

On the front sight, you need to file a small grove for the roll pin that secures the sight. I compared old and new, you'll notice the correct spot has a mark on the new sight.

As I mentioned, I was a bit apprehensive to pounding on the sights with a drift and hammer, and filing a bit. When it came down to it, however, it was VERY easy, and it came out perfect. Took me about an hour, and I went VERY SLOW. (I even blued the bottom of the sights.)

I had Trijicons on my Kahr and have a front Mepro on my G23. My gut instinct is to say that the Trijicons are a bit higher quality but the Mepros are brighter and have a larger vial which I like.

I have a PCR and would like to get a trigger job to clean up the already very respectable trigger. After that, I'd like to get a set of the XS Big Dot sights. Actually, I'm most interested in the front sight which XS said they would sell alone for $70 plus shipping I believe. I've seen the XSs on a couple guns now and have been pretty impressed but I have no idea about their durability or longevity.

I ordered a new CZ75 in 2000 with the night sights. They say "tru-dot" on them. I think they're made by Meprolight. They were really super except that the capsules containing the tritium kept backing out of their holes under recoil. No problem, I just pushed them back in with my fingernail, and I was good for another 100 rounds.
One day the front sight capsule flew out under recoil and I couldn't find it. (it's very tiny) So now I don't know what I can do except order a whole new set. I don't think I can just get a new front sight by itself.

I have the CZ-USA supplied PT Nites on my P-01...about 2 years now.
Still bright as ever. A set of custom PT Nites on my CZ83 (yellow, green) that look like
PCR sights.

At one time PT would replace the front sight if you sent such to them for review.

I was also told that MEPROLIGHT no longer makes CZ sights, so PTs were
the sights that CZ went with.

Some prefer Trijicon. On my other guns both brands have worked well.

I also have MMC adjustable Nites on two of my CZs. these are holding up very well.

Cz-USA only sell green, green, 3 dots Nites.
