I bought a NIB 239, sold it a month later. It would not reliably fire the primers of various types of ammo. I was very disappointed, as I had heard so many good things about Sigs.

Did you ever have the gun checked by a smith?
I carry a 9mm P239 daily. If it fits your hand and its relative demerits:large for a single stack 9mm and I guess cost vs a S&W 908 or something similar are outweighed by its relative merits:very accurate for a compact CCW pistol, exceptionally well made and reliable then by all means give one a try.I have gorilla mitts and the only thing that I don't like is that the backstrap doesn't fill my palm enough but it doesn't hinder how well I shoot it.My fingers are big enough that a Hogue grip doesn't give my middle finger enough room but many love them of theirs.
