LOL, I shot the same classifier today for the second time this year, and I have only shot 3 matches!!! I think it is a silly test of very little, but the rest of the guys seem to enjoy it. I put down an 8.04 total time down one point, should end up being 74%. First string was a 4.3 with a bobbled reload, second was decent at 3.74. BTW, the Open, Limited, L10 and Production high hit factors are all the same. It takes three second strings and totals around 6 seconds flat with all the points for 100%. Draw, fire 5 accurate enough shots, reload and fire five more accurate enough rounds in 3 seconds. It takes an .80ish draw, .15 splits, a .90ish reload and .15 splits to get there. WOW. I need to pull a tenth off my draw, 3 tenths off my reload, and .05 off each split to get there from here, the high hit factor on this one is just incredible. The best I have ever seen in person is mid 3's and it looks mighty fast, but it is still a full second total time from 100%.

Hsmith,

I'm one of em' that enjoys that classifier. It's simple and you can pretty much shoot as fast as you can. But all shots must count (alphas) since it's a very low round count stage and the part that matters most isn't the shooters splits, but how well they reload. I still feel it's a great stage. People just like to hose the targets, there are still many factors to be sucessful in this stage.

Okay, you got us. That classifier is just an excuse to hose bullets. :uhoh:

2 Glocks and an XD.

I counted 3 Glocks that day, although only two of them were black. I guess Mike's desert tan G17 was well camo'ed so I can understand how you might have missed it. ;)

BTW, sorry about not having any clays for the shotguns.

Move the targets back to 15 and 20 YARDS or even better 20 and 25 YARDS and I would call it a test of shooting ability. As it is I think it is a good test to find out who dry fires and who doesn't. If you shoot it like dry fire you can do OK as long as you don't bobble ANYTHING, if you shoot it as a stage in the match odds are very good you will be at least one class lower than you should be when it posts. I have watched 40 different guys shoot this, and only two that I remember have posted scores that reflect where they will place in a major match.

I really like picking on this particular classifier. I don't like it at all. Call it a short speed shoot that is just one stage of the match and my tune would change, call it a classifier and I think it is terribly lacking in shooting test quality.

All this and I forgot to say, GREAT pictures!!!! Those are really well done.
