Here's a picture of the final version of the new Becker 4" clip point and the new sheath. The knife feels great in the hand. The full tang blade is coated 1095 tool steel. Grip scales are "grivory" like the larger Beckers. Optional canvas micarta scales will be available. Full height flat grind drop points, scandi grinds and even a 4" version of the BKT 5 will be out shortly.

There are a lot of different blade shapes that have been called "bowies".

Some of them are large clip points, often with prominent guards. ;)

Looks like a good knife, hso.

John,

The thing feels great in the hand and I had the chance to see the production prototypes put through their paces over a weekend. I was reluctant to pound the thing into the side grain of a 4X4 but the tip survived being snapped out to the side and the edge held up well through battoning and cutting rope and cardboard. I'm looking forward to the release of the 3 other models in this new line and have probably found a new favorite field knife (after I remove the black coating and get the optional micarta grips on it).

It's nice, but for a camp knife, I think I'd prefer a drop point to clip.
I LOVE the look and feel of the BK11 and BK2. I really want to pick them both up at some point in the near future.

They'll have a drop and one with a blade similar to the Puma "Hunter's Pal" out as well.

BTW, here's a link to their new catalogue where you can see their Mini Magnum, Mini Campanion and Mini Bowie. https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&...NWIwMy00NDljLTlhMDktZjViMTRlMjY0NDcx&hl=en_US

How thick are they? I'd personally rather have a 1/8" thick knife over a 3/16" thick one.
