i dont own a dry tumbler. i used to clean brass and then polish on a wheel with compound. sometimes i didnt clean at all. i have loaded some 5 times without cleaning.
anyway its a step up from before. saves alot of time and my hands dont cramp up.
i mostly use lee sizing compound now and its water soluble, so easy to clean up. getting away from the rcbs pad. had a couple stuck cases with it and the stuff is like trying to wash off 90w gear oil. i dont want any residue in my chamber, especially after what i heard from the experts about it effecting the life of the rifle.
Just got one myself recently, for a full batch I use a "squirt" of dawn and a 9mm case full of lemishine. Do NOT overdo it on the lemishine it will litterally turn your brass pink. Start out with hot water and rinse in cold asap. Be sure to get all the soap off then dry. I actually went ahead and got the FA brass dryer, which works well. The process it a bit of a PITA but the results are great. Oh, if you use pins make sure to get them all out of the brass, check the primer pockets especially on small rifle brass ie .556/223.
