:fire: I am not into bashing company's but I thought people should know this. My buddy purchased a "new in box" Kahr P45 from me with issues. The frame rails were crewed up, the gun didn't go fully into battery after 400 rounds. So I called Kahr for him "3 times" out of guilt. I left messeges twice without a call back and today I waited for 35 minutes and got someone. They gave me the address and a code to return the lemon ourselves. Not what I would have expected from their customer service. I owned a Kahr K40 when they first came out and loved the gun, I even referred them to everyone I know. I will post what happens next. Hopefully they will make my frustration go away.

I doubt it. Not if the experience was anything like mine with my pm9. Poor poor customer service IMO. They aren't a big company, so they are limited in terms of human resources, but they still fall short of even decent customer service to their customers who are paying $700+ for tupperware that doesn't even work half the time. No excuse for that.

not

buying the 50% crap, I know u got a bummer kahr, and that is sad but the 50% is pure unadulterated B. S. and you certainly can't even come close to proving that..

My neighbor's FoMoCo had to have the transmission replaced at 50,000 miles.

Mine is still pulling the load at 150.

Who knows?

Personally, I firmly beleive that Gremlins and extra-terestials inhabit objects and exibit behavior that can not be explained with any degree of rationality.

Its majic.

Deceased leaves from my neighbor's tree always seem to fall in my yard...there is a black hole for single socks attached to my clothes dryer...etc.

Too bad

Guys I believe every company can make a lemon and there are 1 billion good stories for every LOUD internet bad story. I have never had to send a gun back to the factory in over 400 guns. My issue here is that they had horrible customer service. I posted a couple months ago about this gun. They had weeks to return my voicemail and they didn't. I am a gun enthusiast and if I worked for an American company like Kahr who made something I thought was quality I would try my hardest to ensure every customer was happy. I have worked for Unisys, Unilever and HP in my field of IT and I do my best not to make my company look bad. People need to have a better work ethic. I would love to have written a month ago about how well they dealt with the issue and made me a believer in their customer service. By the way I am 32 and have been in IT for 11 years.

Service obviously can vary

I emailed them not long ago about light strikes with my
P45 and got prompt reply. Exchanged couple emails about specifics with suggestion I send it in for new springs. Told them I could do it and they sent me a new striker spring and a new recoil spring. With about 1000 rounds thru it, had not had any previous problems. Call me a satisified customer.

I feel your pain , thanks for the PM to. You got lost in the cracks no doubt, my message to you in my pm had similar results with my lcp Ruger. Seemed no one else had such lousy service with their lcp as I did, so once I finally got ahold of Joe Cramer and explained where my lcp has been the last 4 months, I had it back in 3 days. They never answered any of my voicemails either. I slipped through the cracks. I am a happy Ruger camper also and being in business myself for over 40 years, I know crap like yours happens.

I truly hope kahrs gets you going right and if not, my feeligs is that you gave them a chance to please you and they failed, so best to peddle it and move on to a gun that pleases you. Nothing wrong with that at all. I won't carry a gun that I cannot trust.

that being said, my two kahrs have been flawless, one a PM9 and one a K9 (used even). love um both and if one broke tomorrow, i would just get it fixed.

keep the faith and you have been upfront with me. Never seen front rails like you described...The quality control person must have sneezed when that grip came by him/her..

I think Kahrs are well-designed firearms, but after my experience with their customer service, I won't own another Kahr pistol again.

Just my experience, others will differ.

I do not know about the abbreviated PM Kahrs.

There is a K9 and a P9 doing bedroom/front door duty.

A couple or three years ago, in a fit of boredom, I suggested in an e-mail to Kahr that they really didn't have to make the horizontal surface on the slide lock/release so dang sharp.

A week or so later I rec'd a new slide lock/release that was nicely rounded and cold blue finished. The tech's name was Javier.

I'd rounded off the sharp edges of the existing slide lock/release and wasn't even complaining...just offering a suggestion to the folks at Kahr that Band-Aids should not be required equipment when shooting their K-9.

The new rounded slide release was a plesant and unexpected surprise.

Holding the K-9 is like shaking hands with a short slde BHP.

At least for these two Kahrs, I'm pretty much a Kahr fan.

In all fairness though, I'm a major, big time fan of slick side DAO pistols or revolvers for home duty.

Just like anything else

I guess Kahrs customer service is just the luck of the draw, as some have had great things to say. I really do like their firearms (mostly the all metal ones). To me an alloy framed K-9 would be the best of both worlds and a PERFECT CCW. Maybe 19oz and replaceable grips. Any company can make a lemon, even HK, Sig, Colt etc. The proof is how they deal with it. I got the feeling on the phone that they are having a lot of repair issues as the rep said they were backed up and the phone queue was backed up. Knowing the quality of the metal guns I would guess most issues are due to the plastic series. Not to say there isn't promise with the design but maybe just teething with the first couple years.
