Went up to "Going Quiet" to see a forum member who showed me the new Gen 4 G19's and I decided on a G26. It just made more sense for this hot Florida climate. Picked up a box of 100 grain Powerball ammo on the ride back to Vero, just to have some good SD ammo till I get a chance to investigate 9mm again, being a 45 guy. Great Price and nice guy, recommend him to fellow members. Also ordered an "infidel" holster from comp-tac, as soon as I got home. Carries nice and light, with an old iwb, that I had, but I believe in getting the right holster for the weapon. All in all a good purchase and a nice ride.

26 is my main SD weapon--carry it all winter & keep it close at hand in the house.
I got a couple of those Pearce Grips for the bottom of the mag's,--gives my little finger a grip.
Enjoy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:)

Love my G26, it's also my main defensive gun. You might want to check out GAP floorplates I have them on all my G26 mags.

I too, love my little 26. I chose it because it offers service auto performance in a very lightweight, small weapon. It's not only my EDC, but really my G2G in most cases. I carry in a very inexpensive Bianchi IWB with thumbreak, carries like a dream. I know a lot of people like the 27, but prefer to use the caliber for which the weapon was originally designed. Stock baseplates here.

I liked the 26 but prefer the 19. I actually just traded in my 26 on a Browning high power. Kinda an impulse thing. The 26 is a nice little gun just not super comfortable in my hand. My Ruger lcp is my pocket gun and my 19 if want to carry a real gun.

I just traded for one a few days ago. I was so excited to get it I went to the range the same day and shot 100 rounds through it. Shot it as well as my 17. I'm happy to add it to my collection.

Though i do not prefer them to shoot...the Glock 26 is one heck of a great carry gun.

Congrats on your new G26!

I recently started working with a G17. That went so well that I got a G19. I started thinking that the G26 would round out the gang, so I went and got one. Great little pistol. Very impressive performance from such a small pistol. Mine is used mostly as an on duty back up.

Another one here who carries a G26 almost all the time. It points better (and I'm more accurate with it) than a G19 for me.

Yup, I use 'em, too. Like them way better than the Pearce pinkie extender.

I am carrying with no mag extensions. I find that using "Talon Grip" tape makes the pistol very shootable and maintains the small size, "which was so important to me". There is a guy on Utube, "hickock45" who is in his 60's and can shoot the crap out of all the baby glocks, using this method. He inspired me to try this "stock mag" with a larger mag for a reload, either from a 19 or higher. I find I have no problem with the 26, he shoots the 27 as his main carry, but is profficient with all calibers including the 29 and 30 with no mag extension. So I am going to practice this way untill it becomes second nature. Otherwise it will print when bending over, I hate this stupid law we have in FL, I carried in another stte that had a "carry permit" no concealed, and it sure made life easier.

When I first fired the G26, I was incredibly suprised at how quickly and accurately I could get it on target. They really are great little guns.

Good choice. I have had my G26 since 2006 and it has never missed a beat. There's gotta be at least 4k-5k rounds through it by now. I think the G26 is the most useful Glock of them all as it can hold 10+1 for CC all the way up to 33+1 for the occasional zombie attacks. Enjoy.

the proof is in the puddin, and the G26 has been in the puddin long enough to be declared a winner....

I got my G26 (early 2nd gen) a few years ago, and use Glock +2 bases on 2 of the mags. Gives me 12+1 in the pistol and a 12 round back up. Using the bases gives my little finger a resting spot, but the length of the grip is not much shorter than my G19's. The shorter barrel makes carry easier, as I use a Fobus Paddle under an untucked shirt.

G26 with A&G grip extender and G19 magazine.
I have a couple of magazines Set up like this.
The gun feels like a short G19 and has the same firepower.
Not the best option if you are looking for extreme concealment but better than a 10 or 12 shot magazine when used as a house gun.

I am getting a mag for a 19 or 17 for that purpose, I had all that stuff and sold it last year with the conversion kit for my 23.

Onmilo:

I have tried every kind of magazine sleeve for my G19 magazines into my G26 but none of them fit. I have tried to modify them but they always turn out messed up looking with gaps.

Did you modify yours and if so how? Thanks, appreciate any help you can offer.

Shot it as well as my G17
Whenever I read this type of comment, I don't get it. This is way off from how I shoot the guns. Maybe it's my eyes? I shoot the longer guns way better, period. In fact, I'm in the market for a G17L. :)

I think what people mean when they say this is, "The gun fits my hand better so I tend to shoot it better."

When I used to own a few Glocks back in the day, I shot my 26 more accurately than my 19.
