So as some of you know, Jackofalltrades and I shoot our local BE indoor league, and do pretty well at it. But decided we want to start competing in more traditional BE matches also. My main concern going in was my lack of experience with my CF gun, like the fact that I have only shot any kind of BE with it twice going in to this match, and only the 2nd time that I have shot SF at 50yds, AND the fact that we decided to jump in with both feet and make our first 2700 the Regional Championships :what: So getting to the match. Rather than go in unclassified and compete with the masters, I used my indoor classification card so that I was at least competing experts. I was extremely nervous and jittery(especially since everyinstance prior to this says I SUCK with CF), to the point that my first SF was an 83, and I thought great this is gonna be a long day and we haven't even gotten to my weakest link yet... the CF. So then I shoot my next SF and end up with a 97 :what: tieing my personal best ever!! When all was said and done, I was pretty happy with myself I ended up shooting a 2433-63x, which was 4th overall in the Expert class, AND I ended up Placing in 6 of the 15 matches, of which my proudest one was the RF NMC where I shot a 289(91sf, 100tf, 98rf) and got 1st EXP for that one!! Anyway like I said, I am extremely pleased(but not satisfied in the least) for my first 2700. I met a few great people, and learned a couple of things, and am ready for another one. I just need to practice, practice, practice with my 45 since that is my handicap at this point. My leg scores were: RF-854-27x, CF-799-21x, 45-780-15x.

Good for you.

A Regional 2700, with the 'Leg' Match is a two day affair and is mentally draining.

Congratulations.

You see... I tolt ya that Testar77 shot pretty well! I tolt ya!

I however, did not bring my 'A' game to the match. Jittery, shaky. I just didn't feel right. So that's how I shot. My rimfire scores were not up to my potential, and my center fire shootin was left... Yeah, left. I had several good groups in the eight ring. Making sight adjustments at a match was not what I had planned. For a while I thought it was all me. Nothing had changed with my pistol. I was shooting some different ammo, but I can't blame that. I eventually did farely well for the .45 match, better than the center fire, with the same gun. Iron sights. I finally placed with a couple of pretty good rapid fire targets. (186-2x) This as our first Outdoor match, I'll quallify as SS, but I don't think I'll stay there very long. Once I make Expert with Iron sights, then I'll put a red dot on the gun. I figure my scores will go up.

RF-801-5x, Ruger MKII with ATN red dot. (I'm quite ashamed of that score. Some days you got it, Some days you don't.)
CF-751-11x, Kimber SS II, Iron sights. Nope, not a built Be gun.
45-778-9x, Kimber SS II, Iron sights. Nope, not a built Be gun.

Thanks Bill. I can tell you one thing though, I knew my CF gun was built well, but when shooting the match there was a few shots in the SF legs that I knew that "I did it right" as far as good focus/concentration, proper trigger squeeze, etc... and when I did my job, the gun definetaly did it's job, and put it right in the X ring! Good equipment is huge, but doesn't matter much if you don't "do your job".

Thanks SoCal, I am not disappointed for my first 2700, and even OK with the CF & 45 scores since it was my 2nd or 3rd time for score with it.

P.S. I haven't seen a couple of the local Peanut Gallery floatin around lately (CDRT, lil ski....etc) everyone must be non-stop shootin right now. Well hopefully it's that, and not workin to dang much!! :D
