Finest Firearm Acquisitions of 2022

With some difficulty I could limit my 2022 purchases to a little over a dozen. There are a couple of rifle and a couple of handgun purchases that are outstanding enough to make me happy that I could add them to my humble collection.

A SIG P210-1 in excellent condition is one of them

A Korth 30 series was incorporated into my Ratzeburg Korth collection.

I am very fond of Anschutz Stutzen, often enough erroneously called Mannlichers, this one is a 1533

I have been intrigued with Weihrauch falling block rifles lately and this excellent HW52 with its scroll engraving is just ... lovely.

So what were the highlights for you in 2022?
 
I did not buy a single firearm this year and only one the year before. This year was just a few accessories (10rd 30 RAR magazine being the most notable lucky find) and a modest amount of reloading supplies. That said I spent a heap of time in the woods using the guns I already have.

Beautiful guns especially the Korth!

It is a Handi-Rifle in 45/70.
I'm excited that Illinois will allow straight wall cartridges in 2023 deer season.

I did purchase a significant amount of components and supplies this year.

I'm about due for a purchase...but not sure what it will be. I like buying handguns because the don't take up too much room.

You have enough weight on the front of that CAT to equal half my tractor's total weight...

Nice rifle, but how is the recoil from 45/70 in a light weight Handi-rifle? I would think that would wake you up, especially with any modern loadings.

I have 200pcs of brass and a bullet mold.
My desire is to use only my handloads in it. I'm thinking trapdoor loads.

That cat is 550+hp rubber tracks.
We have a new(2018) tractor that we're excited about. A 450hp front wheel assist. Should be coming soon. I'll prop a gun up on it and sneak it in a picture soon.

LOL that 11 times more horse power too! :D I look forward to the next sneaky picture.
 
My only purchase in 2022. A lightly used Wilson XTAC in 45acp. Sold or gave away quite a few, tried to help some people out that otherwise couldn't afford one.

The only purchase planned for 2023 is a new S&W 17 masterpiece. :)

Those are some very nice acquisitions!
 
I didn't buy many guns this year. We moved back in the spring and I bought a couple thousand dollars worth of butcher block tops, chairs and shelving for my loading room.

I did buy another Glock 19 and I built a short barrel 308. I started out with a new Remington stainless 40X action. It has a 20 fluted Krieger barrel, PT&G recoil lug, HS precision stock, Jewell trigger, Badger rings and rail, and a 2.5-10 Nightforce scope.

I also rebarreled a 700 PSS with a varmint contour Krieger barrel.

I, too, anticipated the straight wall phenomenon. There was a dearth of single shots in our area up until I found my "third" choice sitting in the used rack at Bass Pro. Spirited negotiations brought the price to a proper level. Then, second choice popped up at the shop where I used to work. CVA 44. Yesterday, doing an appraisal, the twin to your 45-70 appeared. It, along with a nice 1100 v.r. field gun came home with me. Now, pappy and both boys can each hunt in the way we were intended. Loads being developed for all three.
 
I bought three. A Bula Arms M-14, new. Possibly better than any of the originals. A very nice K-frame Smith, in .38 Spl. Lots of good honest wear. Timing is perfect, lockup good, .005 cylinder gap and no play in the crane. All matching #s. A C&R from Simpson's Collector Guns. The third gun is a type 14 Nambu, made in 1935 and apparently never fired after leaving the factory. Gun is 99% with no detectable wear visible on the finish. The inside of the gun is slobbered with cosmoline, as is the matching magazine. This can be seen in the last pic.

These early Japanese pistols exhibited a fit and finish equal to any Luger I have ever seen. The polishing is exquisite, the finish is a deep, rich, rust blue and the small parts are strawed. The grips are mahogany.

Before anybody starts, these is no way in HELL that I will ever attempt to fire this pistol. If I want to shoot a Nambu, and I can ever find any ammo, I will buy a "shooter grade " gun and shoot that one. These guns aren't in the same class as Lugers, or SAA Colts, but they are very collectable and their values have gone up in recent years. I paid $1700 for this one and I feel that I stole it at that price. A 98% type 14, with a Holster and two non-matching mags sold recently for $2200. That gun had been fired. That lowered its value. Finding an 83 year old unissued and unfired military pistol isn't easy to do. The value is reflected in its pristine condition.
