i know brownelles has the bake on stuff.i read that engin enamel also works as well as rustoleum but how well do they hold up to cleaning solvents?am curious because i have a project, the gun itself is no collector, just a shooter and the parkerizing has worn off, exposing bluing or something underneath.i want to do the whole gun in 1 finish that resists rust and cleaning solvents.textured,plain..doesnt matter.just need it oxidation resistant and solvent resistant. thanks

What kind of gun you want to refinish might make a difference. . . .

Brownell's bake-on finishes go a good job of resisting rust and are resistant to most solvents. But they tend to wear on sharp edges and corners. Parkerizing by the way makes a great base-coat/primer for any coated finish, just don't oil it after it's applied.

Brownell's also have an excellent Tech. service that's only a phone call away. They'll be glad to answer questions about any of they're products.
