My dad has a gun safe that it is not fireproof. It is possible to fireproof this gun safe? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for your reply!

Any non flamable material(5/8" drywall/concrete board) combined with air spaces around the safe should help insulate the inside from the heat.

You really would need to build a complete enclosure with a fire rated door to be effective...

If you install drywall, install it on the outside. When the room collapses around the safe, it'll take down the drywall, leaving the contents of the safe vulnerable.

Most gun safe manufacturers use gypsum-x. That is the UL rated fire board used by building code to line your garage walls. It is available at your local hardware store.

You will get approximately 30 minutes of "fireproof" per each 5/8 inch layer. The doors are typically the hardest to line due to the existing boltwork.
