Firing 380 Auto in a 9mm Luger?

Yep, as mentioned above. But during reloading you should be able to see differences. I have had 380 brass get as far as sizing/depriming, and the difference is very noticeable; 380 brass just slips into the sizing die with little resistance from smaller case diameter. If you get as far as bullet seating the case length should be noticeably shorter visually (.740" shorter).
Ahmm. But most of us know what you meant.
Sorry, didn't see Walkalong already had addressed the typo. Feel free to point mine out, I've had some spectacular ones .....;)

I accidentally fired a .380 from my P228. It got loaded into a magazine of 9mm. Less noise and recoil. Other than that nothing. It ejected as it should. Really unremarkable.
same with me--I only noticed it was underpowered then realized the spent brass was 380 I don't shoot 380s and 9mms together now.

Similar to shooting 40S&W in 10mm and 9mm in 40S&W

Ummmmm.......................

The first is very achievable with little to no adverse effects - .400"/.401" thru the correct bore.
The second is achievable, but not much good gonna come of it......355"/.356" thru a much larger bore....

I don't see the similarity...............maybe I missed something.......

There was a government agency that set up malfunctions for trainees by slipping a .380 into the occasional 9mm magazine. Their Berettas would feed and fire the .380 but not function.

A .380 lets the press handle slam down with no resistance in the sizing die. No excuse for running one all the way through the process.

On the other hand, a Boxer primed Makarov case will load just like 9mm P until you notice all the extra bullet protrusion.
I was pulling them down until I got curious and fired a couple. They apparently headspaced on the extractor and shot normally.

I was illustrating gas leak around the bullet by shooting shorter 9x17/.380Auto in 9mm barrel with 40S&W in 10mm being less and 9mm in 40S&W being a lot more.
