I recently purchased a S&W 646 revolver, and experienced some misfires.
Searching THR and other forums, I found that this was a common problem, and the reason why the moonclips are manufactured in two different thicknesses.
My searching also found suggestions on purchasing an extended firing pint from C&S, which I did.
But my searching also found posting the the firing pin could be too long, and there's a risk of pierced primers.
So, how long should/could the firing pin be so I'd have the best balance of reliable ignition with minimal risk of pierced primers?
Should I be measuring the overall length of the firing pin, or just the length that protrudes into the gap behind the cylinder?
