Finally got my AR15 and Saiga 5.45 put back together!

Saiga 5.45 Pistol Grip Conversion
-K-Var stock
-RSA trigger
-Midwest Industries quad rail
-Magpul RVG and rail covers
-East German top cover

AR15 build (test fired today, 180 rounds, 0 malfing)
-Spikes Tactical Punisher lower, M4LE barrel, Nickel-Boron BCG, T2 heavy buffer and buffer spring
-Vltor VIS-2 monolithic upper
-YHM gas system
-Magpul CTR stock, MIAD grip, and VFG
-Geissele SSA Combat trigger
-Troy Industries Tritium BUIS
-Trijicon TA01 ACOG
-BCM Gunfighter charging handle

These are the first two custom weapons I've had where I did all the gunsmithing myself. Took a while and made a few mistakes along the way, but it was a great learning experience and I would recommend both to all shooters.

Feel free to share your own pics!

*EDIT* Sorry, pics didn't load right.

Look good CG. I'd like to do a Saiga some day myself. Just curious, why change the dust cover, is there some reason not to keep the original?

I do not now a whole lot about saigas. Could someone explain what the "convertered saiga" means exactly. What typical modifications are done to convert it, and what is the reason for the conversions?

Nothing was wrong with the original, I just liked the old style better. The smooth ones look more streamlined but the ribbed ones give it character.

Saigas are imported in a "sporter" configuration that has no pistol grip. Converting means removing the original stock and trigger assembly and replacing them with an AK stock, pistol grip, and trigger, basically making the gun into a fully functional AK. It improves ergonomics and handling, as well as giving you more custom options for triggers, grips and stocks.
