First AR build want it look like the m-16 I served with.

Hey fellas
Not sure this is the right form. But here we go.
I was in the service 40 or so years ago looking to build an ar to pass on to my son like the m-16 i was issued. I have done a ton of resesrch but having trouble pin pointing the hand gaurds the ones I am looking for are two peice smooth somewhat triangle with vent holes along the top and maybe the bottom its been 40 years. The only ones I can find are ribbed. Their is so much ar stuff its hard sifting thruogh it all. If you could point me in the right direction it would oh so helpful.

Jeeptim.............can you even legally own one in that configuration in your state? I frequent Calguns net, and from what I've read it seems that normal 16/15 configuration guns are not permitted unless grandfathered.

Anyway, I sure can appreciate your desire to recreate a version of your service rifle and wish you good luck with it. By the way, SARCO was advertising the exact handguards you are looking for in their latest ad in Shotgun News.
