I just used the battenfield kit to bed my first rifle. It's a zasatava m70 Mauser in 308. The rifle is pretty darn accurate as is but decided to use my cabin fever time to glass bed it.

We are currently in the dreaded wait time, I just hope the rifle isn't glued together!

If anything, I probably used too little epoxy but I will post pics tomorrow.

Cool looking forward to pictures.

If you didn't rough out a bunch of the stock material it wont take alot of epoxy to get a decent skim bed.
I've actually found it very hard to glue an action into a stock. Only time i came close the inletting let the action fall.below centerline and epoxy got above it. Still poped free after a couple love taps on the bench.

I ended up not using enough epoxy on the first run (at least to my untrained eye). I resanded it and hit it with another round.

I think it turned out quit well. It took a few firm whacks to get it out which I suppose is the point.

Pics and range report this weekend.

The dreaded wait time is 24 hours. Bedding will not guarantee increased accuracy. It will, usually, increase consistency though. Put a Win M70A stock on my Cooey M71 .243, years ago. The thing still shoots 'minute of deer' or better all day.
Like HB says, a second 'coat' is normal too. So are a few whacks to take off the stock. Making the metal fit the wood better is the idea in the first place.

In the event its gets stuck, put the gun in a chest freezer, or if you live somewhere cold, put it outside for about an hour. Worked once for me. Im guessing the colder the better, it was about -8 fahrenheit for mine.
