Good shooting from a short barrel at that distance. I am looking for a 3" SP101 357 .

I love my 3" ss gp100. It is my nightstand goto handgun. It's as good as a home defense/belt revolver you can get IMHO. Good job

The 3in. GP100 is a terrific revolver to carry OWB at anytime, but especially good while sitting in a car or truck. Just a great revolver overall!

I almost bought a Wiley, there is one on Armslist here $650. But, when I found this in the used case at the gun store, I decided to save some money.
I have since found a set of OEM GP100 compact grips to replace the Hogues. I am kind of torn on that. I dislike the look and bulk of the Hogues...but they feel great while shooting, and I did some of my best shooting ever with the Hogues on the GP.
I will have to get out to the range soon and see if I can duplicate that performance with the compacts.

I had a 3" SP101. It was accurate, but POA did not coincide with POI...it shot about 8" low and 6" left...I sold it.

But that is the classic trigger jerk POI for a right hander.

I have a Ruger SP-101 and a Speed-Six, and both are phenomenal revolvers. I think the Speed-Six is a bit lighter and I've worked on the action until it's like glass. It's also a 3-inch model, which is unusual. I love mine, and wouldn't trade it for a 3-inch GP-100. But I think the new Ruger will be popular. I just wish they would lighten their magnums.

My 3" GP100 also has a to-the-left POI. I know it's not me because my SP101, Security Six I used to own, and the S&Ws are/were spot on.

Now, all you need to do is swap out those HKS speedloaders for the Safariland ones. The Safariland ones are for instant use.

Question for the op. In what order were the shots fired? I figure the first three were at poa and then they walked down due to recoil.

"...Question for the op. In what order were the shots fired? I figure the first three were at poa and then they walked down due to recoil..."

Not sure, as I went through the cylinderfull single action in one continuous string without checking my impacts...standing offhand, two hand grip.
Recoil is negligible in this revolver, so I don't think it was a factor. More likely, it is the effect of my finding the black front sight on a black bull and lining it up with a silver rear sight notch in my preferred hold. I'm still learning this revolver.
My club has steel plates at 40 and 80yds...at 40yds, I was nailing the poodle sized ram plate easily. I was also hitting the bottom diamond on the spinners, so I went for the 80yd round plate, which is a foot wide. No problem hitting that, and I felt like Hickok45...I even said "life is good", LOL. I find shooting the plates helpful, as I can see the impact in the dirt on misses, and adjust my aim.

Here is a pic of our plates:

I enjoy shooting paper. However like you I have found there is just something very gratifying about the sound of round hitting a steel plate a little further than we feel we should be able to.

I've found over the years that GP100s *really* like lighter bullets. Buddy of mine had a fixed sight 3 inch GP100 that I foolishly passed on.

My GP100 came with the Hogue monogrip, which is standard on all GP's now.
I guess the original grip manufacture, Lett grips went out of business.
The Hogue is big, and adds too much bulk for a short barrel gun like the three inch GP.
I immediately started looking for an OEM grip.
Shooting with the Hogue changed my opinion somewhat...it pointed well, and felt great under the recoil of full power factory 357 mag.
I found a good deal on eBay for a compact GP grip and put them on my revolver...they feel good, and make the 3" a viable CCW gun.
It will be interesting to see if I can shoot with them as well as I did with the Hogue. I'm not concerned about recoil...when I owned a S&W Model 19 2.5", I preferred the wood magna/Tyler T-grip combo. Here it is:

I have a 3" GP-100 and infact did my qualification for my carry permit with it.... quite literally, I had not shot it before that. Found it interesting how well I did out to 15 yds. In hindsight, I wish I would have shot 38spls.
