i bought a cz p10f yesterday and eagerly brought it to the range this morning. i was going to check out the sights and see how well it grouped and to see if it will have malfunctions.

it was WIIINDY but at least in 150 rds of mainly reloads and factory no malfunctions noted. i quit early the bullets were rolling off the bench in the wind and my fingers were getting clumsy loading the mags. couldnt check out grouping as i only shot steel at 25 yrds. no paper allowed as the wind will just wreck the frames.

The range officer was telling me I was crazy for shooting in the cold wind. Again I was the only one at the range.

Congrats, superb buy.
Windy nahh, the range officer wanted to shoot your new handgun.
He didnt dare to ask you.

Me and a buddy of mine went out shooting one time on a very cold and windy President's Day many years ago. Had the range to ourselves; even the range owner wouldn't come out to see what we were doing! Just left our driver's licenses at the back door of their house and paid on our way out!

So what were your impressions of the P10 F after shooting it for the first time?

i often let them check out some of my guns. i had him check out the sights and the reset and later let him shoot some factory rounds. like i said i was the only one there. if not for me they would all be in the warm office.
he was researching the gun in his smart phone afterwards.

i like the front sight, easy to see but doesn't cause a flare to my partially corrected astigmatism unlike a fiberoptic. the depth of the notch in the rear sight is perfect(like the sights on my sp01) and not shallow like my cz85.

it feels the same as my p10c but with 19 rds and a longer sight radius. the trigger is the same which i like. with certain triggers or when I've shot a gun recently. i can visualize the feel of the trigger press( dont know exactly how to express it) and with the p10 triggers it's very easy do that.

i like the texturing on the grip. it is easy to drop the slide stop on a loaded magazine. magazine ejects positively and the magazine release button is less stiff compared to when my p10c was new but that softened up after a few range sessions so that wasn't a p10c issue for me. i had left the small strap on with both p10s and i didn't experiment with the other straps. i don't think it bump loaded(?) the magazines unlike some p10f guns i saw on video. neither plus or minus for me.

the box it came with didn't have foam cutouts unlike my other czs and other p10fs i saw on youtube just plain flat foam. No biggie but i like having the other magazine and straps stay put. It just came with manual, a brush , red slotted plastic rod and a lock. interestingly only serial number is on the frame. nothing on the slide or barrel.you could see some tooling marks in the inner part of the slide but it doesn't bother me. I only see it when oiled.

i hope the sights are on point. will have to shoot paper to check on that. the rear sight seems a tad off looking at it carefully. if the sights are centered, i will put blue loctite on the set screw. the p10c set screw fell off after 3 to 4 range sessions. luckily i found it on the table.

It was absolutely pouring cold breezy rain all day today. At a stop by my LGS I saw some girl scouts selling cookies under a pop up canopy. My wife and I bought some cookies.

You're not quite that hard core but dedicated nonetheless. :)

Nice shooting given the circumstances.

i was comparing the p10c and the p10f at home and i noticed the p10f has some play in the rear of the slide to frame fit and makes a slight noise when shaken. my p10c has no play. i hope it is as consistent as the p10c. I'll see if i can shoot on paper this am.

Barrel to slide fit is more critical than slide to frame fit. I've got a Colt Commander that jingles like a pocket full of change when handled that just flat out stacks shots.
