I dont know why but somewhat thinking about atleast one revolver for my collection. Im more of a semi-auto man but the wheel is sorta tempting.

So going along with my collection of mil-surp type war buddy typeish guns. What would a good war buddy type wheel gun would you recomend?

Then maybe what would revolver should EVERYONE own? A J-Frame maybe?

Sure this has been asked before tho and I feel almost stupid for asking. But hey...its to get some conversation going as well... But the collection might benifit from a war buddy revolver.

You might consider a Smith & Wesson "Victory Model" revolver. They were the primary revolver used by U.S. Armed Forces (particularly the Navy) during World War Two, and some were still being used in Viet Nam.

.38 Special/6 shot/4 inch barrel/ usually Parkerized finish/ plain walnut grips. This was the war-time version of what's now called the "Model 10." Likely will cost around $200.00 - $300.00 if in good shape.

What Old Fluff said, also consider the 45 ACP 1917 revolvers, either Colt or S&W. They are veterans of both WW1 and WW2.

Smith and Wesson Model 10 .38 spl
Smith and Wesson Model 19 .38/.357mag
Smith and Wesson Model 27 or 28 .38/.357mag
Smith and Wesson Model 29 .44mag "Dirty Harry"
Smith and Wesson Model 17 or 18 .22lr

Ruger Blackhawk/Vaquero/Superblackhawk assorted calibers .38 through .45Colt (Single action)

Prolly 99% of the revolvers discussed on the net fall into the above group

Well, if you want a revolver that doubles a semi-auto cartridge you probably already have in your collection (like the good 'ol .45ACP), then the S&W 625 is a fantastic gun.

Watch out though, your 1911's could get jealous.

Greeting's All-

The Smith & Wesson "Victory model" .38 Special
would be a good addition. In my area, the ones
I've seen lately have been in pristine condition;
and thus demanded a figure much closer to the
$275.00- $400.00 mark.:( :uhoh:
