Fix Bayonets, anyone?

I have bayonets for almost all my milsurps that take a bayonet( missing a couple just cause I havent gotten around to buying them yet, and the k31 bayo will probly just never happen. WAY to expensive.).I dont shoot with them on though, or have any reason for them other than they look neat, and are part of the rifle just like I have the slings, cleaning rods, etc for them too.

I have bayonets for all my rifles that accept them. It seemed like a logical extention to the knife collection I had before I was old enough to collect guns. It's more authentic in a collection if you have all the accessories.

Plus it looks cool and drives the antis insane!

I try to get a bayonet for every rifle of mine that accepts one, its fun to shoot with it fixed to see how much it changes the POI, also just seems more complete with it.

If a rifle has a bayonet lug,it must have a bayonet to put on it.Otherwise, the balance and harmony of the world would be thrown off kilter.Right now, global warming and Mideast unrest is caused by me needing a K31 bayonet. It is the only milsurp I own that does not have a bayonet yet. What's really great is to line all the rifles up with fixed bayonets.People say WOW!

I did a quick check - 13 bayonets here (I think I found them all).

I'm short a Schmidt-Rubin M1911 bayonet, but have an excess Arisaka bayonet my dad brought back from Guadalcanal. I don't think I'll let go of that one. Every military rifle I own has at least one variant of bayonet for it, and I wish I had all the major variants for them.

The most impressive are the 15" Arisaka and FN-49 Venezuelan contract bayonets. I would love to have one of those gnarly pioneer bayonets for the Schmidt-Rubin, but too much $$$ for me now.

I shoot my 91/30 with the bayonet attached for best accuracy. Other than that, none of my rifles have bayonet lugs or bayonets (until I get my WASR, at least).

If they weren't so expensive (and rare) I would buy a bayonet for my M-39.

If haveing too many evil features on a detachable mag semi-auto wasn't illegal, I would love to fix a bayonet on my AR.

I have a bayonet for my Lee Enfield. The transfer dealer is on vacation, so I didn't get to pick up the rifle yet. In not too much longer, they WILL be mated:)

Personally, I like bayonets--especially big sword ones.

Virgil - I love my 1907 British bayo - it's a short sword, in essence, and I keep it in the bedroom as a backup defense weapon. It balances perfectly for one-handed use, and can do some serious damage as both slasher and stabber.

Remember, get em in the belly, not in the ribs, where it'll stick
-All quiet on the western front

I have a bayonet for all capable weapons, including my AR. I WILL and mean WILL get the CZ knife bayonet for my PO1. Many people claim they will. I have an envelope of money saving up for it. :D

bayonets for all my guns that will take them (including shotguns). except the k31. that bayonet is too damn pricey

wish someone would make a reasonably priced svt and evidently k31 ersatz bayonets.

A rifle is just not complete unless you have all the related items to go with it...and yes, they get "dressed up" for pictures and show much the same as a little 2yr old. Not to mention all the flack an incomplete rifle would get from his peers in the safe...that would just be cruel.

Hey, this is probably fodder for another topic/post, but since bayonets were a banned item at one time(assuming dangerous killing things were what was supposed to be banned), I wonder if more than 0 people(within continental borders, during recent history, post civil war) have actually been ran through by a bayonet?...In other words, do bayonets kill too???

Yes. Article posted here, IIRC, about an incident on an Indian reservation. Don't recall if the guy was shot and stabbed or just stabbed.

I have bayonets for all my rifles that take them except for my FN FAL with the Browning type long flash hider. The K31 bayonet is affordable compared to what the FAL type B bayonet costs. I just can't bring myself to shell out $500

This one's my favorite. It came with a 1911 rifle I bought last year for some odd reason (its not the correct bayonet for the 1911). Mounting it on a K-31 makes the rifle a little muzzle heavy,

The neat thing is that the sawback serrations are razor sharp- it would probably cut down a tree very easily.

Edit: oops, forgot the picture.

my WASR came with one and wouldnt you know it the mount has been torched off by the 'refurbisher'.
its been sitting in its box next to the others in my closet since i got it. maybe ill drag it out and sell it to one of you chaps.

Yup.

Matter of fact, I spent almost $300 on pigstickers at the last two gunshows. What can I say, a K-31 with frog for $60, a couple Neur Art quillbacks, and a Hakim bayo for $45...

'sides, they're even scarier than EBRs.

Although the scariest words I ever heard were, "Fix bayonets," it was necessary. But that was 1968.
Today, I have bayonets for my Ishapore Enfield (Bayo is a genuine Wilkinson Sword Ltd., made and issued in 1915. Pulled it from its scabbard , stripped-off the cosmoline and damn near cut myself. It was still that sharp, but has enough nicks in it to show me it was used in The War to End All Wars.
Have to pick up a bayo for my Garand. I don't think I'll get any for the ARs. Ugly memories, but we won that fight.
Remember, Nations go to war, men go into combat. There is a huge difference.

I have one USGI bayonet for my standard length/configuration M14s and my Type 56S-1 has one.

They are great for pictures and nice to have, just in case . . .
