You can reuse a crush washer, you just have to un-crush it. Two pairs of channel locks, pliers etc and a little judicious twisting and you're back in business.

Mmmmm ... OK ... they're pretty cheap ... hardly worth the effort, IMO. You're more dedicated than I!!

Well, it's not exactly something I keep a whole bunch of on hand. It's faster to grip it up, give 'er a twist and throw it back on than to go digging through parts bins and drawers trying to remember where I last saw a new crush washer.
