Flash Suppressor Question...

Hello... I have a .22LR rifle that I wanted to put a flash hider/suppressor on? The threads are 1/2 x 28? The flash hiders I see for sale say for .223 and 5.56 but with 1/2 x 28 threads? Will those sizes work on a .22LR? Thanks.

Since .22LR fires a bullet of the same diameter as .223/5.56, yes it will.

A 1/2" x28 thread is a 1/2"x28 thread no matter what it's on.

1/2-28 UNEF is the US standard for barrel threads on nearly all .22 caliber rifles, whether .22 LR or .223/5.56. You'll typically find shorter tenons on rimfires than centerfire, and some are not undercut at the rear, which can cause seating issues with muzzle devices or cans that aren't counterbored, but that just becomes a matter of spacing/shimming to mitigate.

In short, yes, pretty much any muzzle device meant for .223/5.56 rifles will install on your barrel.

When it comes to suppressors, do understand that rimfire and centerfire rifle cans are very different.

Not much flash. I bought a tanker style hider. Just thought it looked cool.

It'll work just fine. Might've gone with a linear comp myself to throw the sound forward & away from me, but a flash hider will work just fine.
