Im filling out my FL non resident app with my father right now and just had a few questions.

1) can i use my NJ hunter education card as a form of safety training adequate for the FL requirements? rather than an nra basic pistol course

2) none of my local police dept's (howell-Freehold) will fingerprint me, so where do i go from here?

3) I have not read it in the manuel, but notice people are sending other items like copy of driver's license and birth certificate, etc. Is that mandatory because id be more than happy to.

4) Can i just get a required sized picture printed from say CVS on glossy paper as long as its not cut? or do i have to use the post office like when you get a passport?

Thanks guys! Im very excited

I took my own pic with my phone and sized it to their specs and printed it. You need paperwork from a certified NRA or similar instructor and you need to send them a copy.

Any police station should take prints for a fee; the paperwork need to be notarized and/or signed by a LEO. If the police won't do prints, someone has to, as other folks need prints taken (casino workers, teachers, etc.) - find out where that happens

1) Yes
2) These guys might be able to help: http://www.newjerseyfingerprinting.com
3) no idea... I would think they'd spell out what kind of ID they (florida) want
4) Any photo will do, as long as it meets their size requirements. For my Utah app., I just had some passport photos taken at the local UPS store. I've known others to just take theirs at home with a digital camera (plain white background), print them out, and send them.

By any change are you X military? When I moved to Florida and applied for my first FL CWL I recall the form allowed you to use your discharge DD-214 for one of the documents proving experience instead of the CWL training course. Read the form carfully.

Completion of any hunter education or hunter safety course approved by the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission or a similar agency of another state

But it says it must be notarized. mines not... Looks like im taking the NRA class

You either need a copy of any of the certificates they list, or if you DON'T have the certificate, you CAN have a notarized affidavit from the instructor of the course saying you took and passed it...

Random thing along the same lines I was thinking about, would a copy of a CCW permit requiring any of those things also count as proof? Figure it might fit under "A copy of any document that shows completion of the course or class or evidences participation in firearms competition;" anyone know for sure though?

If you are going to use an NRA class for the training requirement, make sure that it includes live fire as that is a Florida requirement.

On Number 3, Hopefully i reading it wrong
Yes, you did. It's #1, OR #2, OR #3.

So, if you have a copy of your certificate of completion of your hunter's safety course, you're good.

If not, then if you have a copy of a document that says you completed a hunter's safety course, you're good.

If neither of the above, THEN if you have a notarized affidavit from your instructor, stating that you completed a hunter's safety course, you're good.

You satisfy their requirements with #1, so you're all set.
