I have a couple legal questions about ammunition matters.
Recently I placed an order for a large amount of .40 ammo from Brownells, and was told that ammo sales are restricted in my area (Florida.) I'm confused... I've ordered ammo by the case online for all my black guns before. Is only handgun ammo restricted here?
Secondly, what are the legalities of bringing ammunition across state lines? I keep a lot of ammo in my house, but I'm active duty military and if possible I'd like to keep it if I transfer to another state. I've heard conflicting information on this subject.
Thanks!

I have recently purchased 9 mm and 7.62x39 from ammoman w/o problems. Order from them or someone else. I live in northwest florida. I am not aware of any restrictions for the state and I do believe that florida has pre-exemption laws against localities enforcing their own firearms laws.
Friend, where in Florida do you live. Did your order it to go to your base. Maybe ammo cannot be sent to military bases. Why not call the vendor and ask why it was not shipped?
Moving ammo across state lines. For the states that surround florida there should be no problem for small amount of ammo. I can not speak for places like new jersey or new york city. Good luck with your ammo purchases.

Florida has no ammo restrictions. I have everything from .22LR to .375.
I was referring to shipping.

Turns out the ammo was not currently in stock, even though it was (and still is) listed as in stock. Nothing on Brownells' site indicates they are "rationing" as other sites are doing. Ammoman's site is down for the holidays... I'll keep looking. Thanks for the help!

I was planning on ordering some ammo in the new year due to the concerted campaign being waged by the mass media. I watch good morning america in the morning and this has been going on for days. I am only interested in practice/training ammo and thought I would pick up a couple of cases of ak ammo for 2013 training/practice. Last class I took expended about 700 rounds for a SI course with the rifle last may. I have not checked ammoman recently. Probably when they reopen I hope it is not with higher prices.

Why not reload?
