There may be a previous thread on this, but my question is, How to "fight this"??
There is a group (go to the website) that has filed a petition to put this BAN before the Florida Voters to add to the Florida Constitution

."Congress won't act. The Florida Legislature won't act. The only way to ban assault weapons like AR-15s and other weapons of war is for the people of Florida to go to the polls and vote. This campaign will place an amendment on the 2020 ballot in Florida to do what our elected leaders refuse to: Ban Assault Weapons NOW."

So this a workaround that by passes "normal" legislation for our Congress critters and Gov to vote on and sign.

Calling or writing Legislators to me would do nothing (not that it does anyway) I do not see how the NRA could approach the subject??

Any suggestions on how to fight this??

Assuming they get the amendment on the ballot.......grassroots activism. Get your shooting buddies registered, organize a group trip to the polls, ask to put up posters and flyers at the LGS and pawnshops, that sort of thing.

That is about the only thing I can think of as well. It is pretty difficult to "fight" a petition. Not like we can start a petition to ask people to vote NO.

Florida supreme court, should reject this amendment.
BAWN needs 770,000 confirmed Florida resident, registered voters. Then a 60% super majority to pass into the state's constitution.
It is worrisome as the funding is coming from out of state.

Yes the SC "should" the amendment is badly written, pretty much EVERY semi auto plus REGISTRATION. But heck semi auto handguns are still OK??
Any semi auto "capable" of holding more than 10 rounds. (Ruger 10/22 and Marlin 60 tube magazine!)

They have a year to collect more signatures.

Brought to you by David Hogg and other Parkland kids and Pulse victims as well as these groups! The people behind it.

This the only remotely favorable article I have read so far against it.
