I am reminded of the quote defining insanity as repeating an action and expecting different results whenever I write to Bill Nelson concerning RKBA.

Has anyone received any encouragement from Bill on RKBA?

I realize Bob Graham is a lost cause.:(

"Dear {fallingblock}:

Thank you for contacting me regarding your concerns about the
expiration of the Assault Weapons Ban.

I support the constitutional right to bear arms. However, I also
support efforts to reduce gun violence and promote firearms safety. As
a member of Congress, I voted for banning assault weapons such as
AK-47's.
It is imperative that such firearms are kept out of the hands of
felons. I will keep your thoughts and concerns in mind when the Senate debates the extension of the Assault Weapons Ban.

I appreciate you informing me about your views on this issue.
Your communication is important as it helps me serve you better in the
Senate."

Sure, Bill. What you're saying is that you support the "constitutional right to bear arms", but not "assault weapons such as AK-47"s"?

Why am I confused here?

He sends this same message every time. He has not updated it in month. The line about felons getting their hands on assualt weapons really burns me. IT IS ALREADY ILLEGAL FOR FELONS TO OWN ANY GUN BILL! YOU WERE AN ASTRONAUT, I KNOW YOU ARE NOT THAT STUPID!

Wow, what do you know I got the exact same letter!!! :fire:

He coulda at least made it a lil longer...:barf:

And also how many weeks since I sent him my first one???:banghead:

please post address so i can write too

I wonder what they'll say if a lot of us write educated, well written letters addressing your point!

Nelson seems to be a weasly bend-in-the-wind politician (more so than Graham). So my letters to him focus on the political suicide it is to oppose gun owners at election time.

Yeah I get the same stupid letter back from him every time, but I believe that somewhere in DC his interns are compiling a list of constituents who are "for" and "against" the gun ban. My hope is that he'll make himself absent from voting that day.

He was the same while he was a state politican. He has never supported the 2nd. I voted against him the first time and will continue to do so. I get the same letters every time I write. Until Graham and Nelson are out, I feel that I'm not represented in the Senate at all:banghead: :cuss:
