Finally took my recently acquired FN 5.7 DAO to the range. Its a fun gun to shoot and practically falls back on targer after firing. The trigger however is looonnng and heavy and difficult to master. I can definitely see why they changed it. The lack of slide release was interesting as the only way to chamber a round after a mag change is to pull back on it and then release. Given this is a rare collector piece i don't expect to shoot it often if ever again. I did enjoy it though so may get a new one eventually for practical use.

The trigger guard caught my eye as well. I really like it, and see how it would work well with gloved hands. I wish more "tactical" (i.e. full size, polymer) style pistols employed that style.

I wish mine had the original style trigger guard. Nice range report. I've not ever had one of those in my hands so don't have any experience with the trigger. But yea, if that's how that trigger is, then I'm glad they changed it in the current style. Mine is short and very crips. Excellent trigger! That is a very sweet gun, though.
