i want one i want one! of course that full auto part probably means my civilian butt can't get one w/o some sort of license...

We'll never see it.

Very cool indeed.

Unfortunately though, the '86 freeze on the manufacture and import of any new machineguns signed by Bush I means even with a machinegun "license" (actually a $200 NFA tax stamp from the Treasury Dept.) you still can't legally own one.

I suppose it would be possible for FN to make a semi auto only 16" barreled model using 10 round magazines here domestically, but there's almost no point to that exercise. I suppose that when the '94 AWB sunsets, and if hopefully, not renewed, 50 round mags could be produced for it, (assuming our hypothetical domestic production from a FN plant in the US) and someone willing to pay for an $200 NFA short barreled rifle tax could someday have a close copy.

I can however attest to it's ergonomics being rather nice. The Tokyo Mauri electric airsoft I bought from a friends gaming/Airsoft store on Monday is rather neat.

It's an interesting concept, although I think that the new FN SS190 round 5.7x28mm is far too anemic, no matter how "penetrating" it is. If the U.S. military is suffering terminal performance issues from 5.56x45/.223 from 11" barreled M4 carbines, this round has to be way lacking.

The exact same platform, necked up to something like 7.62x28, sort of a really hot 7.62 "Super Tokarev" might show some promise. The Russian subguns in 7.62x25 loaded spicy out of SMG length barrels aquitted itself rather well in WWII.

my media player is set up to loop video clips and replay them over and over...makes that first clip really fun. i spent the last five minutes watching it play continuously.

Uuhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh:

Did you notice in the first video that there is a MAN walking in the background near the upper left hand corner?!?!?!?

:what: :what: :what:

:what:

Wow, you know what Blain? I must have seen that piece of video about a million times, and I never saw that. I sure looks like something manshaped moving from left to right in the upper left corner of the range.

I guess he got the short straw.

If the FN was produced domestically and the '86 Lautenberg Amendment went Bye-bye, maybe.

The GCA '68 stopped ALL import of Foreign MGs. From '68 until '86, foreign MG's were converted Semis. For example, almost every transferrable MP5 is a converted HK94. All real push-pin MP5s are either pre-'68 or Pre and Post-'86 dealer samples.

If the '86 ban goes away, the P90 was made domestically, and someone made a DIAS or equivalent, then after all the Form 1s and taxes, it would be kosher.

What's behind that "paper" target, anyway? The tracers are going all over the place after passing through, some taking off in their own direction (over the berm and whatnot) after impact with the...um, paper.
:uhoh:

FWIW, I believe that "man" in the left hand corner is just a puff of smoke, probably from some fun munitions they were playing with.
Not too many people I know can expand and disintegrate into thin air like that.
:D

If the '94AWB sunsets and they came out with a semiauto version with a 16" bbl I'd take one. I would not and will not pay the "tax stamps" for a full auto.

Then again, swapping my M1 carbine bbl for a 5.7 mm Spitfire would be a heck of a lot cheaper and I'd still have everything the FN has except the 50 round magazine. I'd be limited to 30 round magazines. Oh well.

I'd probably still buy one anyway. I'm a huge fan of SG1.

It looks like smoke to me. The "green jacket" is the smoke thinning a bit and the green from the pine tree showing through.

Let the flaming begin! Zoom in and look at it- it's just a puff of smoke.

The FN IS produced domestically. They come from the FN plant here in Columbia, SC. I've been to the plant. They have tighter security than I went through at the Pentagon :what: It took me a full 20 minutes to get out of the guard booth with my new Hi Power :D The guards were all cool and we talked guns the whole time. Great bunch of people up there, everyone I talked to was very nice.

Smoke doens't remain a 6 foot tall object which walks sideways!!!!!!!!

well let's see I'm disabled out of the Army, I have a bad back, a bum leg, and a ticker that needs constant medication, oh, and I turn 48 next week... so since I'm not gonna make it through the police academy, how does one become a LEO dealer so one might have access to samples?

Hmmmmm, I vote for smoke. It looks like it starts out closer, and moves back, then dissapears. Prolly from the tracer fun.

why must you tempt me (all of us) with the forbidden fruit.....go back foul demon from wince you came....

Those are the coolest "little" guns out there :D

I had the chance last week to handle a demo model, but sadly there was no chance of actually shooting the thing. It's different, that's for sure. Seems like a neat weapon.

So if the 94' AWB sunsets, does that mean you will be able to get flash suppressors, bayonet lugs and magazines with greater than 10 rounds capacity with no hassle?

Also, will the 16 inch minimum barrel length requirement still exist?

Thanks.

Yes.

Yes, as far as I know, that has nothing to do with the 94' AW law.
