FN P90 video

The FN P90 is NOT made at FNMI in Columbia, SC. We import them, and distribute them from here. Liquid Tension, if you saw them being worked on, we had to make a bunch of markings on the last batch.

Among other things we have to put the "Law Enforcement / GOvernment Use Only" stuff on the magazines :-(

To prep for your armorers class: if you've ever removed the hammer assembly from a Steyr AUG, the P90 comes out the same way. There's even a cavity for the cleaning kit just like the AUG.

You'll be amazed and how easy these things field strip; the most complicated part is the sling.

And if your going to be doing any range time with them, don't wear pants with cuffs; since the P90 down ejects, cuffs tend to collect the empties.

Speaking of Stargate SG-1 and P-90s, I wonder where/how the armorers for that show got some? Or are the ones they use fakes? I have seen the Jack O'Neil character reload one, and it looked like an authentic mag.

Spawn had them also in the movie of the same name; if I had to guess, I'd say the answer begins with a '$'.

I'd also bet they've been converted to another caliber, because the 5.7x28 round is pretty expensive if I recall, and they'd need awhole lot of blanks. Mayne they've been converted to propane guns like the minigun used by Arnold in every one of his movies.

Any clues?

open up shot gun news.... i saw an ad in there for "movie spec" guns. blank only fireing guns that give you the size look and feel of most all popular guns out there. had ak's, ar15's, g17-30's, sigs, mp5, think i saw a p90. for most those movies they dont use real guns....well not real by the manufacture. they use something thats safer, cheaper, and easier to come by. if its something a blank gun isnt built in then they get an aromor that has one. or use real guns for close ups and such

If you look closely at the ones in Spawn, they are heavily modified MAC-10s, or a variant thereof.
The SG-1 show has done a couple of pretty good close-ups, and I swear they look real. Magazine is spot on, controls in the right place. I dunno if they are actual P-90s or not, but they damn sure look like it. Airsoft, maybe, with muzzle flash added in post production?

The video with the snow, etc., even had a frogman coming out of the water Chuck Norris style. Or was it Rambo? Either way, cool!

What's behind that "paper" target, anyway? The tracers are going all over the place after passing through, some taking off in their own direction (over the berm and whatnot) after impact with the...um, paper.
I noticed that too. One shot clearly goes off to the left at about 45 degrees and a few others go up into the trees above the hill. They must be hitting something metal on the stand.

I think that smoke/man is actually a moving paper target. It maintains it's shape the whole time so that eliminates smoke. It also appears to be following a set path, slowly. I doubt it's a human, doesn't look much like one.

Speaking of MCRC

Back in the Spring of 1999, FN did a full demo of its wares at MCRC's Open House. This ranged from the Five-seveN all the way up to the M2HB-QCB. During a demo of the P90 with tracers, more than one bounced up and over the high berm of the General Purpose bay. This resulted in a small brush fire that led to a mad rush downrange and a panicked attempt by the Range Officers to stomp out the fire. None to soon, their boots were supplimented by the late arrival of shovels.

And if your going to be doing any range time with them, don't wear pants with cuffs; since the P90 down ejects, cuffs tend to collect the empties.

Well, that just makes it easier to police your brass! :)

The poltergeist in the footage is a puff of smoke. If you look at it in fullscreen mode it is expanding and rising as it drifts towards the left. Also, it is semi-transparent. I know few people who possess all of those qualities. ;)

In the small window, however, it does look eerily man-like.

And I soooooooo want a P90.

p90, fun toy, but I really wouldn't use one to defend myself. If I wanted a full auto Pea shooter I'd get one of those compressed air BB thompsons that fire #7 steel shot.
