I have just ordered an FN Supreme .264 Win Mag and I don't know a whole lot about them. According to the dealer I am getting it from it does not say Browning on it anywhere. It has a stepped barrel like a Safari grade, floorplate release in the trigger guard, engraved floorplate like the Safari, side safety and a monte carlo stock. It sure looks like a Safari grade and I have not seen an FN with these features.

I have an FN from that period (postwar to 1975) in 270, and it is one of the best. Fjestad's "Blue Book" is a little short on information, but does add a few bucks for the FN Supreme Magnum in 264, and also mentions a Presentation Grade, with engraving, for a large premium. Sounds like you got a winner.

Slightly off topic

but I think the .264 Win Mag is one of the the most underated cartridges of all time. When I was young ( a teenager and broke, or at least real short on cash) the local gun shop had a Mannlicer-Shoenoer(sp?) in .264 Win Mag. It sat on the shelf for many months, but I just couldn't raise the cash for it. I would LOVE to find the same gun today. I've never understood why they were never more popular. Basically a .270 (which is a great cartridge) on steroids.
