Interested in a the Kel-Tec SU16CA.
It's kinda, well... plasticky for me though.

Any other similar folds-for-storage rifles out there?

Are the folders and breakdown rifles reliable? Any chronic problems?

My Savage 10FP started life as a folder. There was a little slop, with it extended, but it didn't hurt accuracy. Didn't like it, was 6" thick folded, so it was worthless to me. Sold it, and bought a fixed stock:)

The AK-100 type side folder locks up rock solid and has no impact on shooting when extended. Makes the rifle very compact too.

Like the Russian guy said 'Is very sturdy too. You can beat a man to death with this, and look (at the buttstock), you cannot even tell'.

By and large, a fixed stock will always be sturdier and easier to shoot well with than a folding stock. As with all generalizations, there are probably a few exceptions to this rule.

This review seems to do a fairly good job of summarizing the SU16CA's strengths and weaknesses. It provides the following answer to your question:

The only other thing about the SU-16 is how it's made, and how it feels. 90% of the rifle is made of high impact Zytel thermoplastic polamide fiberglass. While this contributes to the rifles light weight, it gives it a cheap and flimsy feel. This is however just an impression, and from what I have been able to tell, the SU-16 is in fact a very sturdy rifle.

Regarding other options, here are some links that may help you:
