A bit hamstrung here in my state as on New Year's Day, even more egregious, draconian gun laws took effect. And our legislature is now looking at foisting a permit to purchase requirement along with a one-gun a month restriction. All semi-auto centerfire rifles are now classed as "assault weapons" and therefore banned. For long guns and handguns, mag capacity restricted to 10 rounds. We got UBCs, we got ERPOs. Oh, and we have to take a class -- at our own expense --, certifying that we understand gun safety, how to secure firearms, keep them away from children, are educated on suicide prevention AND understand the state laws on deadly force AND can articulate how we would de-escalate a confrontation. This is every two years and we've gotta produce a certificate every time we purchase a firearm. Then there's that pesky 10 business day waiting period (so it's at least 14 days to pick up a firearm after purchase, usually 15 or more).
I'm pretty well set, so it looks as though my next purchases will be old Colt or S&W revolvers, filling in the niches in my lever action rifle collection, and maybe picking up another fine bolt-action hunting rifle...
I voted "revolver" as that's the most likely for what I'm seeking for my collection.
