I'm going to be traveling overseas with muzzle-loading firearms to the World Muzzle-Loading Championships in three weeks. I've got the appropriate CBP Form 4457s for the guns (had those for years), but there is a new system requiring us to apply for an export permit. https://www.ice.gov/cpi/faq has the details.

The problem is that they reference an "AESDirect" web site. Checking THAT comes up with a bunch of pages aimed at commercial import/export firms, not the average citizen. As in there is no indication of how to get an account!

Any help on how to get started would be very welcome. Thanks.

My advice to is call your member of Congress, either House or Senate depending on who is more helpful. A staffer should be able to call people in the agency to expedite your request.
