1) make a tool in your garage

2) buy a 870 forearm nut wrench on eBay for $20

3) pay a gunmith $25 or so to do it for you

Once the nut is off, be careful removing the wood as it's rather thin at top and is often stuck to the assembly.

If it's a one time swap, it may be easier to have it done just to save time and aggravation.

I bought the wrench, but I also wouldn't be surprised if my 870 collection grew in the future... :)
